A 5 week course curated specifically for those preferring to create mosaic work using the direct method and a follow-on course for students who have completed the one-day course in the direct method.

This course will allow students to work on a larger base (25x25cm) with a design of their own choice whilst also building on their existing knowledge.

Our courses take place in a large mosaic-specialist studio and each class has capacity to maximum 9 students so everyone can have individual attention and help from the artist tutor.

What a great evening course! I loved it and feel sad it’s now finished, but I have my first ever mosaic to show for it. The last day especially was very exciting when we could see everyone’s projects coming to an end. By chance we all chose very different projects, which was very interesting and inspiring. Rada is a really lovely teacher, very competent and attentive. The facilities are also very well equipped in terms of space, tools and range of tiles. To make the most of this course you'd need to have a design ready when turning up for session one, as 25x25cm is a relatively large scale project for 5 sessions of 3 hours each; therefore a familiarity with basic mosaic techniques and materials is advisable if not necessary so you can prepare your design in advance. Alternatively, there is a well equipped library at the school where someone can get inspiration.

Rada was great at teaching the technical skills needed and was also on hand to help with artistic design, making suggestions to improve my project. I would definitely recommend the course and thought it was really good value for money, with all the equipment and materials needed supplied. 5 weeks was the perfect amount of time to learn the skills needed to complete a first mosaic project. There was also flexibility to make up missed class time if needed.

Rada originally trained as an actor in her native Bulgaria, before moving to France where she specialised in theatre and plastic arts in Paris.
